After talking with a friend who has an Xbox 360, and is an unapologetic Microsoft fanboy, I am again on the fence between the PS3 and the Xbox 360. I guess it all comes down to the pluses and minuses.
PS3 Pluses:
-Comes standard with Blu-ray
-Comes with a larger hard drive
-Can use a PSP to get your media anywhere
PS3 Minuses
-Limited game titles
Xbox Pluses:
-Online gaming superior
-More title available
-Xbox live
-Media Center interface seems better (my opinion)
Xbox 360 Minuses
-HD DVD sold as a separate accessory
-Smaller hard drive
What else can be added to this list? Also, what I want to know is why no one is talking about the media center capabilities of these machines? Probably because their are more gamers than media guys like me!

There are definitely a lot more, and I think we need a good way to collect all off these.
Let me add some that I've thought about:
PS3 Pluses:
- Crazy amazing Cell processor. Future gaming power is off the charts
- High-Def Gaming available now and will never require a stand alone drive.
- 1080p do I need to say more?
- Easily accessible hard drive that appears to be user upgradeable.
- Sony has an uphill battle to fight for a change. This means that they will be working extra hard to get the PS3 to be number 1.
PS3 minuses:
- Sony is your content provider. Will this restrict the online media that you'll have access to? (IPTV, movies, etc)
- Ugly UI. I wonder if you can skin it?
XBox Pluses:
- 3rd party content providers. All studios are fair game for movies and TV content.
- Better potential standards compliance since MS is usually involved in all of the standards boards anyway.
- Integration with Vista, XP, Windows MCE. Unfortunately, this is what most people have at home.
XBox minues:
- Odd choice of processor. They're using PowerPC, big, hot, sucks a lot of power. Why?
- Poor product positioning. Why do they keep releasing useless revisions of the product? Elite, Core, Halo edition. These are mindless upgrades. The box is almost 2 years old. Make it BETTER!
