What do you mean "probably run OSX"? The solution to the Blu ray/ HD DVD problem is to wait until external drives come down in price. There are a few external combo options but they are like $600.
:-)
So, you're going to by a sweet little box for home theater and then have to have an external hard disk array and an external media drive? Hmm. I'll wait until Apple backs an HD medium and then buy one. Otherwise I'm thinking something PC based where I can add the drive in later myself.
Just a thought.
You still haven't explained your "probably run osx" comment. There is no doubt that it will run osx and do plenty of other things!
I don't see what the big deal is about having to have an internal BD/ HD-DVD drive. Having different components is not a big deal to me. Its not like I have a ton of room for a huge chasis. If an external blu-ray drive does the job then great.
Show me where you can find another system that has a dual core 1.83ghz intel processor, 1 gb RAM, a DVD burner and a gigabit network for under $500 in such as small form factor and I'll consider it.
(Note: the under $500 comes from the discount I get from the soon to be Apple Genius.)
The "probably run osx" comment was a total sarcastic joke since it will obviously run OS X. Which I like very much.
Honestly, I have nothing against the Mini. I like it. I'm just giving you a hard time because you're so stuck on it! :-)
The fact that I can run linux on the mini is the only reason that I'd even consider it. I want a little more power than 1.8Ghz. I'd really like to see more like the 2.8Ghz range, but I understand that may be too much heat for that little box.
